When did the federal government start requiring tractor trailer drivers to have a commercial driver’s license?
The federal government began requiring tractor trailer driver’s to have a commercial driver’s license over twenty years ago.

Do any Wyoming truck driving schools offer financing?
Most Wyoming truck driving schools offer financing to those who are qualified.

Do Wyoming trucking companies offer tuition reimbursement?
Several Wyoming trucking companies offer tuition reimbursement. The amount of the reimbursement varies from company to company.

Will my Wyoming truck driving school offer job placement?
Some truck driving schools offer job placement, others do not. This is something you will want to look into before you enroll at a school.

Is there any limit to what I can pull once I have my CDL?
There are three classes of CDL. These classes are determined by the size and weight of the load you will be carrying. Other limitations include the number of trailers you can pull at once, and the types of material you can carry (liquids, hazardous materials, etc.).

What are the benefits of attending a Wyoming truck driving school?
There are several benefits that you receive by attending a truck driving school. First, you learn how to operate a tractor trailer. You also learn Wyoming driving laws.

What is the pay for a new truck driver?

Truck drivers are usually paid per mile. As a new truck driver, you can expect to make around $35,000.

Do I only have one chance to pass my CDL exams?
No. In fact, if you give yourself enough time, you can take the exam twice in the same day (if you fail the first time).


Do I need to bring anything with me when I take my exams?
Yes. You should bring a photo ID (your up-to-date Wyoming driver’s license), a social security card, required paperwork, and a means to pay all applicable fees.

Am I required to pass a physical exam to obtain my CDL?
Yes. You must pass a physical exam in order to obtain a commercial driver’s license.

Will I only be required to pass one physical exam as a truck driver?
No. In order to keep your CDL, you must pass the physical every two years.

What other tests am I required to take in order to receive my CDL?
Another test you must take more than once in your truck driving career is a drug test.
